A quick, non-invasive scan breaks down what the number on the scale can't — how much of your weight is muscle, fat, and water.
It's repeated periodically alongside your care plan, so you can see what's actually changing, not just guess.
How InBody body composition scanning works.
InBody body composition scanners use bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure what your body is made of — not just how much you weigh. During the scan, a safe, low-level electrical current passes through the body. Because muscle, fat, and water conduct electricity differently, the scanner estimates body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, body water, and visceral fat — the fat stored deep around your internal organs.
What an InBody scan can help you do
Understanding your body composition provides a much more complete picture of your health than the number on a scale. An InBody scan can help you:
- Track muscle gain and fat loss to measure progress beyond body weight.
- Assess visceral fat levels, an important marker because excess visceral fat is associated with a higher risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and other chronic health conditions.
- Monitor metabolic health by identifying changes in lean muscle mass and body fat over time.
- Personalize nutrition and fitness plans based on your unique body composition.
- Support healthy aging by tracking muscle mass, hydration, and body composition — key factors for maintaining strength, mobility, and long-term health.
Whether your goal is weight management, athletic performance, or longevity, regular body composition assessments provide objective data to help guide your health decisions and measure meaningful progress over time.
